Polar Sumi - Talosumi

Polar Sumi is the most widely spoken of the Sumi languages, with boundries stretching from the Qumal Mountains, to just a few hundred miles south of the tip of Kamalia's Sumi Peninsula. The number of Polar Sumi speakers is estimated to be somewhere between 1.5 million and 2 million.

History

Polar Sumi was first described by Cameron White in 2010 while studying in Kamalia. It gets its name from the fact that it is the northernmost spoken language on Poseidon, therefore, the closest spoken to the North Pole.

Phonology

Stress

Zero Stress can be placed on postpositions, particles, and pronouns. Otherwise, stress falls on the primary syllable.

Orthography

The standardized Sumi orthography was created by Cameron White and is a modified version of the latin Alphabet.

Syntax

Polar Sumi is an SVO language with Ergative-Absolutive morphosyntactic alignment.

Cases

Polar Sumi Has 8 cases in the singular and plural. Singular nouns are repeated to form dual number.

Pronouns

The Personal pronouns have threenumbers, and three persons. The next three tablesa contain the personal pronouns in the Ergative, Absolutive, and Genitive case.


Verbs

Polar Sumi verbs conjugate for three grammatical persons (1st, 2nd and 3rd), 5 grammatical moods (indicative, imperative, conditional, imperative, and optative), three grammatical numbers (singular, dual, and plural), and two tenses (past and non-past).
